Californian McLain was in the US Navy when he started tattooing, and wrote to Paul Rogers, Ed Hardy, for advice. in 1976 McLain met Mike Malone and was hired at China Sea Tattoo in Hololulu. He later bought the shop 'Floating World Tattoo', after Malone. Lance recently closed Dragon Tattoo, retiring from a 30+ year career.
